If you’re an experienced runner and looking for something to do this Labor Day, look no longer. This Labor Day (September 7th) the North Shore YMCA will be holding a 25K race. The course will wind its way along the scenic coast of Gloucester and Rockport with exhilarating ocean and classic New England villages views. The 25K is well hosted and will offer mile markers, split times, ample water stations, post-race festivities, a cookout to replace some of those burned calories, awards, a DJ and much more.
The course itself will be monitored by the Gloucester and Rockport Police Departments as well as the North Shore Radio Association. This is one of America’s oldest, toughest and most scenic races. Runners will conquer 16 major hills over a 15.56 mile race. An ideal way to prepare for a fall marathon, this is a great way to spend your Labor Day holiday
Head to Route 128 North to first rotary. Take the third exit off of Grant Circle Rotary (1st Rotary) onto Washington St. Follow for .5 mile. Turn right onto Osman Babson Drive (Entrance to O’Maley Middle School) and follow for .5 mile to main parking lot.
