Recently, our office had the pleasure of hosting some of the lead administrators from the Manchester Essex Regional School District to find out first hand why these schools consistently rank #1 in the various school rankings.
Our guest speakers included Pamela Beaudoin- Superintendent, Tricia Puglisi- High School Principal, Joanne Maino- Middle School Principal and John Willis- Memorial School Principal.
Pamela Beaudoin stressed how big a role the community and parents play in the success of the schools. She said the parents are so supportive both in and out of the classroom, in a variety of ways, like with the Spaulding Education Fund- which is a non-profit organization, funded by the community and parents and dedicated to to advancing the educational excellence it the Manchester Essex School District. She also commented on the preliminary studies for a new or fully renovated elementary school for Manchester.
Tricia Puglisi commented that the community is extremely supportive and it is a dream to come to work everyday. She said she has never worked in a school system where there was so much support. She explained how all of the teachers work together to meet the needs of all learners. And that Manchester Essex boasts an impressive 95% of students who pursue a college degree.
John Willis and Joanne Maino explained how the public school curriculum is followed, but the teachers add their own creative teaching style to achieve a more exciting and interesting classroom experience. All of this works together in creating a more interested and advanced student.
Tricia also explained the vast number of Advanced Placement classes that are taught at the high school and how many of the students earn a proficient or higher grade in the year end AP exams, often qualifying them for college credit.
